I’m a host by nature and have enjoyed traveling all over the world. From volunteering for a non-profit organization and traveling the world by boat, to living in Japan for over 10 years, the world is my home. Even in my personal life I’m a host - just ask my friends! Chances are they’ll tell you I force-feed them wine and charcuterie every time they come over! In all seriousness, I've been visiting the Okanagan for decades, camping, staying with friends, exploring wineries and local hiking trails, all while learning the ins-and-outs of this gorgeous area.

Since returning to Canada from Japan in 2008, my love for BC and the variety it has to offer continues to grow. Recently relocating from the Lower Mainland with my daughter, our dream of living in the Okanagan has finally come to fruition. With the addition of our horse and a second dog, our family continues to grow since our relocation earlier this year. With years of Strata & Rental Management under my belt, my heart was calling for a change, and when you open that door an opportunity knocks.

SunSage was originally started by Yannick in 2020. She started to take a closer look at the local vacation rental market and quickly realized it wasn’t near where it could be. Listings are cluttered with blurry photos, bad descriptions, poor listing options, and finding companies that would not only clean but also restock the rental was very hard to come by. By talking to friends and family, Yannick noticed a lot of really great homes sitting empty and only used a few weeks/months out of the year. Why? Because homeowners don’t have the time to deal with renting it out, or they’re simply scared of opening up their home to strangers. She started to think how she could help, and develop a business to better serve those homeowners. And with that, SunSage was born. Yannick has since chosen to step-back and take time with her new son and family, and I've stepped in.

Most full-service vacation rental management companies charge anywhere from 25%-50%, + hidden fees and worst of all, they usually don’t even live where they manage. At SunSage, not only do we live where we manage we also work to establish great rapport with guests right away! By telling the story of the house and the owners, it helps to convey a sense of place which sets the right expectations from the start. Best part of all, we’re able to do all this without overcharging guests or homeowners. How? We leverage technology to greatly reduce overhead costs and make all our business decisions with our homeowners and guests top of mind. We're excited to connect!
